Skilled Rehabilitation to Treat a Broad Range of Conditions

Treatment Methods and Services

Pediatric Rehabilitation therapists use a variety of treatment methods
including:

  • Speech and Language Therapy - Comprehensive services for a variety of communication
    disorders, including delayed speech or language, voice problems and stuttering.
    Also addresses swallowing problems resulting from neurologic impairment
    or developmental delays.
  • Occupational Therapy - Develops range of motion, strength, coordination,
    play and self-care skills needed to face daily challenges with confidence
    and success. Focuses on therapeutic activities and adaptation of the environment
    to help each child reach his or her potential.
  • Physical Therapy - Addresses issues interfering with the development of
    functional movement patterns. These issues may be orthopedic in nature,
    involve balance and coordination issues or stem from a neurological impairment.
    Helps children gain motor skills, control, and strength to access and
    be safe in their environment.

Following an evaluation, the therapist may also recommend treatment methods such as:

  • Neurodevelopmental therapy
  • Crainio-sacral therapy
  • Myofascial release
  • Sensory integration
  • Aquatic therapy
  • Wheelchair assessment
  • Orthotic assessment
  • LiteGait Jr. training

Insurance Information

A number of insurance plans have developed exclusive arrangements with
a small group of providers. Southwest General Health Center has been included
in many of these arrangements.
